What is music publishing?
Royalties and fees are due to an artist whenever a piece of their music is publicly performed, whether that’s on a radio show, in a club, on a TV ad or film, or on a computer game. There is also a performance and mechanical royalty due every time a writer’s song is streamed or downloaded. Music publishing rewards the writer for their work.
What makes us different?
Forensically collecting royalties is just one part of what we do for our writers. We collaborate, support and promote, working hard to unlock the value in their music. That means everything from placing tracks on multinational ads, to song-plugging and other creative services.
And we know our stuff. Founded in 2011 by James Pitt and Simon Harris, we’ve collectively been in the music business for over 35 years. Our contacts and relationships within the industry mean we can maximise our writers’ creative opportunities and really make a difference to their careers. As an independent that cares, we will be here when you need us.
Why work with us?
Minds On Fire provides independent thinking, professional accounting and sensible deals, helping unlock the value in our writers' music and develop them financially and creatively.
We also work in all kinds of areas of the music business and can add value where other publishers can’t. Promotion, marketing and A&R is all at hand with our partner company, Your Army, together with management and label experience. We offer sound advice to help artists achieve their objectives.
Put simply, we know how to get your music out there.
